WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — He rocked both the music and movie scene here in Wilmington, and his name will not be soon forgotten.

Kevin “Cuz” Davis passed away this past January.

Three months later, “Cuz Fest” at Hugh Mcrae Park brought together hundreds of folks despite the soggy weather.

Friends, family and fans huddled under the park’s pavilion where everyone shared laughs, pictures and stories of the renowned drummer.

They say his personality was magnetic and he was always the life of the party.

Older brother Scott Davis planned much of the event in which, he says, social media played a huge role.

“All the love, it has certainly uplifted my family. The Facebook page has been amazing for that.” Davis said, “I have started calling Facebook the ‘digital hug’ ’cause it has really been that thing to get us out of our darkest moments in those first few weeks.”

The Kevin Davis memorial page now stands at nearly 1,800 members.

At the memorial, there was talk of “Cuz Fest” becoming an annual event, however no concrete plans have been made.
