HARKERS ISLAND, NC (AP) -- A report complied for the National Park Service finds that the Cape Lookout National Seashore on the North Carolina coast means more than $20 million for the local economy and supports about 300 jobs.
The report said the seashore attracted about 480,000 visitors during 2012.
The report was released by economists from the U.S. Geological Survey. It found that for every dollar invested in National Park Service sites nationwide, $10 is generated for local economies.
