WILMINGTON, NC (NEWS RELEASE) — Time Warner Cable today announced it has launched a new, theme-based digital channel lineup to customers in Wilmington. The new lineup groups channels together intuitively, making it simpler and easier for customers to find the programming they want to view — and to discover other content. Additionally, customers with an HD box will automatically receive the HD feed of the corresponding standard-definition channel, providing the best picture available.

WWAY NewsChannel 3 is now on channel 1200.

Channels will be grouped into themes like Entertainment, News & Info, Sports Music, Kids & Teens and Premiums.  Likewise, On Demand content will be found on channels 1000 and above in categories like Primetime On Demand, Entertainment On Demand, Kids On Demand and Music On Demand.

All parental control and DVR settings will transition automatically, so customers don’t have to worry about reprogramming their parental control settings or losing recordings of their favorite shows.

There is no change in channels 1 to 99, and no change in which channels are part of a customer’s Time Warner Cable TV package.

Time Warner Cable Digital TV customers in the Wilmington, Bladenboro, Brunswick County, Burgaw, Chadbourn, Elizabethtown, Lake Waccamaw, Pender County, Southport, Tabor City and Whiteville areas will receive the lineup March 25, with the new lineup taking effect in Jacksonville, Newport and Pink Hill on March 27.

    Nice to let us know before you screw up all the channels. I have spent an hour trying to find a few of my regular channels. The website is worthless and inaccurate. At least all the porn is in one section that my kids shouldn’t stumble across.

    TWC is very low on my list of quality service providers.

    With all the switches and price increases in TWC, I switched to DirectTV. I called TWC and asked for a special rate for senior citizens and was told that none was available. It seems that TWC should treat their long time customers with discounts instead of increases. Nothing TWC does is very helpful including their customer service representatives.

    My digital antenna brings me 16 Hi-Def channels FREE throughout my house. My Roku 3 streams hundreds and hundreds of movies and TV series shows from Netflix and Amazon all in 1080p Hi-Def.

    This is by far the best television I’ve ever had and I’m saving over a hundred clams a month! When the cable companies thought they had a right to reach into my pocket and take what they wanted, I decided it was time for a change! Now, they’re Gone! PooF! OutaHeah! YiHoooooo!!!

    Dropped cable a few months back and subscribed to the larger of the two satellite service providers. Couldn’t be happier.

    TWC has the worst customer service I have ever experienced and I have experienced a lot of bad customer service. It is so bad that we clipped the cable. We are very content with our antenna and no $100 per month cable bill. Good riddance!! I have heard satellite operations are bad too.

    It works like this: A long time customer of TWC who is elderly and has loyally supported the company for years and years SHOULD be entitled to a price break.
    It’s not as if Cable TV is a physically quantitative product – It is an electronic signal…It costs the same to broadcast whether 1 person or 1 million people receive it; And show some respect for your elders (and not just your lack of intelligence) – I hope some day finds you elderly and on a fixed income – and having to decide between TV and Supper or TV and Medication. And some Rocket scientist says to you: “You don’t deserve a break – What – Just because you’re old?” NICE…..
