Jermaine Jones gets chance to shine in front of NFL scouts at NC State

RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) -- Carter-Finley Stadium was the place to be on Monday if you wanted to see one of the best three-sport athletes to come out of New Hanover High School. Jermaine Jones is a speedy wide receiver out of St. Augustine's in Ralegh. In fact Jones is one of the fastest guys you'll ever see on a football field. He hopes his speed will catch the attention of NFL scouts. On Monday the New Hanover High graduate did everything he was asked to do by the scouts, and then some. We were not allowed to videotape Jones' 40, but he was was more than happy to tell us about the unofficial fastest 40 of the day, on a slow indoor turf surface. "Yes, I clocked in at 4.42 today. I was a bit upset because in the past I've been clocking 4.3 mids & high, but I'll take it for today."
