SUPPLY, NC (WWAY) — A fire destroyed a Supply home this afternoon.

Firefighters from the Tri-Beach Volunteer Fire Department battled the flames, but they were not able to save the home.

The people who live at 2727 Sunrise St. SW did not want to talk on camera, but they say they were inside the home with two young children when they heard the fire and got out.

They say they do not know how or where the fire started, but everyone inside, including the family dog, made it out safely.

Witnesses say they saw black smoke and flames coming from the house and called 911. Others say they have never seen a house burn so quickly.

Investigators say they do not know what caused the fire just yet, but they say the house is a total loss.
