CHAPEL HILL, NC (UNCW) -- Skye Bolt had three hits, including a home run, and Tom Zengel knocked in three runs as UNC Chapel Hill topped visiting UNCW, 9-4, on Tuesday at Boshamer Stadium.

The Tar Heels (16-12) halted a six-game losing streak with the home win while the Seahawks fell to 12-14.
Reliever Reilly Hovis (5-1) picked up the win, hurling 3.1 innings of scoreless baseball and giving the Tar Heels a chance to take the lead.

Christian MacDonald (1-3) suffered his third loss of the season in his first start of the campaign after nine relief appearances thus far. MacDonald was roughed up for three runs on seven hits over 3.1 innings.
Terence Connelly led UNCW with three hits while Corey Dick had two for UNCW.

Bolt scored twice and knocked in two runs while Adrian Chacon added two hits, a double and a home run.
How it happened: UNCW lead 2-1 into the fourth inning when the Tar Heels loaded the bases against MacDonald and Tyler Ramirez plated the tying and go-ahead runs with a single. UNC used a leadoff homer in the sixth from Chacon and a two-run homer later in the frame by Bolt to take a 6-2 lead.

Inside the box score: UNCW was 0-for-6 in RBI situations and was held to just one hit in nine two-out opportunities … Seahawk hitters combined to go 2-for-15 with runners on base … UNC also struggled with men in scoring position, going 3-for-14 … UNCW totaled 14 fly ball outs and struck out six times.

Notes: UNCW’s two longest active hitting streaks were halted with Golden (10 games) and Dunlap (8) going hitless … The Seahawks dropped to 0-3 against the ACC this season … UNCW also dipped to 0-3 against ranked opponents … Cory Dick is now one RBI shy of 100 for his career … Robbie Thorburn drew four walks on the night … Dick retook the team-lead with a .350 batting average.

Up next: The Seahawks host Coastal Carolina on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

NHHS Baseball use to be respected

All we have to say in Hampstead is "Who in the world did you beat?" And were they real highschool teams?

We have had our struggles, but you guys have nothing and nobody even has to prepare to beat you!
It's all good we just think your baseball recruiting needs to really try to land at least some B type players.
You got nothing. Poor coaches, and average to below average players leads to another well below .500 season!

The two Pender wins were impressive though!! Haha!!
