WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- April is Community College Month, and tomorrow the Port City's community college will celebrate in a big way.
Cape Fear Community College wants to show the community all it has to offer.
"They know the college is here, but they have no idea everything that goes on," CFCC spokesman David Hardin said. "So when we do an event like this, we wanna make sure people know."
The school will host an open house tomorrow with more than 100 interactive exhibits for the community to experience.
The college's boat building school will host a boat show and give tours of the R/V Cape Hatteras.
"The open house is about sharing the opportunities and promoting what we have to offer to the community," Hardin said.
Though it's been open to students since fall, the downtown campus's newest addition, the Union Station building, will celebrate its official grand opening tomorrow. The 250,000 square foot building offers space for students to experience some of the latest education technology.
CFCC's medical simulation facility allows students to learn hands-on.
"Students can really experience as much as they can without practicing in real life, so it really raises the level of education up to the next level," Hardin said.
It all starts at 10 a.m.
