Stallions likely to name Kyle Hutchison head coach


TABOR CITY, NC (WWAY) -- The Columbus County School Board will be meeting on Monday night. Kyle Hutchison's name will be brought up for school board approval. If approved, Hutchison will likely be named the next head football coach for South Columbus. Hutchison is currently an assistant football coach at Richmond Senior High School. Hutchison primarily works with the tight ends and receivers for the Richmond Raiders.

Jake Fonvielle announced his resignation as the South Columbus head football coach and athletics director in February. Fonvielle took over the football program at South Columbus in 2009. Fonvielle led the Stallions to the 2-A East Championship game in 2011 & 2012. The 1997 South Columbus graduate & East Carolina grad plans to take over the family business in Tabor City.
