MLK Center hosts Easter egg hunt for adults with disabilities

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- With Easter just around the corner, the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center gave adults with disabilities a chance to get in the spirit.

For the sixth straight year, the center held its Extravaganza Egg Hunt along with a few rounds of Bingo and arts and crafts time.

Volunteers say participants really enjoy getting out and taking part in all of the activities.

"For one, and to my understanding, that a lot of the services for adults with disabilities have been decreased," organizer Mary Jones said. "And we would like to continue to increase our programs and finding them healthy, good activities to be involved with on a weekly basis."

Jones says that when they first started the event it only had about 100 participants. Over the years it has grown, and they hope to continue to grow in the future.
