WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — UNCW hosted more than 350 area professionals for the 11th annual Wilmington Information Technology Exchange (WITX) today.

Students and faculty members displayed exhibits.

The conference hosted several educational sessions, including how one man built a thriving tech community in Charleston, SC.

Event organizers say this event continues to grow.

“It is an opportunity for the public to come in and see the technology projects of our students, which are really fun,” UNCW professor Tom Janicki. “We have a lot of hands-on projects, hands-on learning. It also gives the wilmington it community a chance to talk to each other.”

Exhibits included one on Google Glass and a remote control car that can be controlled by a virtual reality headset.
