TABOR CITY, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Board of Education approved two athletic positions involving South Columbus High School on Monday night. Kyle Hutchison was approved to be the head football coach of the Stallions. Willie Gore was named director of athletics. Gore has been a staple at South Columbus for several years. Kyle Hutchison recently finished his third season as an assistant coach at perennial power Richmond Senior High School. He’s expected to sign a contract with South Columbus on Thursday. Hutchison hopes to start teaching at South Columbus before the end of the current school year. Willie Gore will serve as an assistant coach in football under Kyle Hutchison. Gore currently coaches golf and bowling at South Columbus as well.
