WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — One stop on this year’s Azalea Garden Tour looks like a traditional home from the street, but it does not take long to notice unique artwork sprinkled throughout the property.
This home at 111 Brookwood Ave. includes a garden years in the making full of unexpected accents inspired by places its owner Melissa Corbett has traveled.
“If you’re basing the thought of a garden here being typically southern, it is, but it also has a lot of interesting other cultural differences that are like little closets all around,” Corbett family friend Shaw Burney said. “It’s really nice.”
One of those cultural influences is a Buddah tucked away near the edge of the lawn. It sits facing the Corbetts’ house and is just one of the many treasures Garden Tour attendees will spot among the flowers.
The Azalea Garden Tour runs through Sunday. Click here for ticket information.
