WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A harsh winter kept Sam and Lynn Leake from planting many species of plants in the garden at their home at 20 Forest Hills Drive, so they’ve been hard at work getting ready for this weekend’s Azalea Garden Tour.

They’re making use of every inch of their lawn to showcase beautiful plants, but they did leave some special room for their grandson to enjoy. You can see it from their favorite spot, too.

“The oyster roaster might be the most interesting part to us,” Lynn said. “Coming from Oklahoma, the oyster roaster was a surprise. We didn’t even know what it was. The realtor had to explain to us what it was.”

They’ve since made great use of it. The Leakes say it’s the perfect place to gather for parties, and they look forward to using it this season.

The Cape Fear Garden Club’s Azalea Garden Tour runs through Sunday. Click here for ticket information.
