WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)-- Widespread Panic did not disappoint during the first show at the Azalea Festival.

The Georgia band brought fans from all over the east coast to hear their unique American rock sound. The parking lot was standing room only with an estimate of a crowd in the thousands. Organizers don't have an official count yet.

Widespread Panic plays again Saturday on the Azalea Concert Main Stage.

How well professional baseball and a performing arts center might do in the Port City. One thing for sure the market for entertainment is here!!

Yep, sure does. What it makes me wonder is how you can twist things around so much in your one-track mind that somehow a single performance by a popular band during the Azalea Festival means that a low level minor league ball team would thrive here (with the taxpayers footing the bill, of course).

Dude, give it a rest; you're becoming stereotypically one dimensional. Time for you to kick back and have a nice, cool, refreshing mug of "shut the heck up". Come back when you have something new to say.
