WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Temperatures will keep climbing and people will keep going to the beach as we inch closer to summer. Sure, everyone knows to slather on sunscreen, but what else should you pack in your bag to make sure you look your best on and off the beach?

Style expert Jessica De Vault said, "When you're going from the beach to beyond, you can't go wrong with a really great tote. Whether you're doing something colorful that can carry all of your beach items or you can also do a bacon bag which is really popular right now. It's really durable. You can where it to the beach and where it out and about when you go for lunch later."

The "bacon bag" earned its name because the atta grass it is made from is cooked over a honey and coconut husk fire, giving it a slight aroma that smells like bacon.

De Vault shopped the shelves and racks at Tickled Pink in Lumina Station,1904 Eastwood Rd #106-107, to find more "must have" items to make life easier during the hot summer months. "I'm all about convenience and making it easy," De Vault said.

She suggests buying items that can play more than one role. For example, a tunic can work as a bathing suit cover up or a dress. A great hat protects from the sun and jazzes up an ordinary dress. And you won't believe how she puts a fall scarf to use. Check out all of her tips when you watch the full story from Good Morning Carolina.
