RALEIGH, NC (AP) — At least three more people have died from the flu in North Carolina.
State health officials said Thursday that the number of flu-related deaths this season has reached 103.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services says the flu season usually lasts from Oct. 1 to March 31. But health officials say the season can be prolonged by the severity of the outbreak.
Officials say one of the latest victims was between 25 and 49, another between 50 and 64 and the third was 65 or older.
State health officials say most of the victims have had some kind of health condition that made them more vulnerable to the flu, which is typical in flu-related deaths.
