WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police say speed and alcohol were likely factors in a crash late last night that killed a Wilmington man last night.

WPD spokeswoman Linda Rawley says Jamil Jacob Johnson was driving a 2002 Chevy S truck just after 10 p.m. when he ran off the road in the 3500 block of Wilshire Blvd., overturned and hit a tree. Police say Johnson, 22, lived in the 2200 block of Wilshire, died at the scene.

Police say Johnson was the only person involved in the crash.
