OK….a 16 year-old was shot at 2:30 AM, NOT PM, folks. Why was she not home in bed where she belongs at that hour? Where are her parents? This is NOT news. This is just an everyday (night)occurrence.

What you all are worried about is a girl and her age…what about the fact that someone shot her…if you all have something to think about its the fact your spending time commenting on here instead of spending time with your own children..get off your phone and have some family time if your so good at it

What it says about me is that I am intelligent enough and concerned about my children enough to know that a 15 year old does not have any business out on a street at that hour of the morning WITH OR WITHOUT HER PARENTS. I would be horrified to know my daughter was out and about at that hour ESPECIALLY with the problems going on in Wilmington at this time. Surely you do not condone this behavior. She wasn’t in a residence and the story doesn’t allude to that at all. It questions your parenting abilities because you are trying to find a way to make her behavior okay. You must be one of these parents with bleeding hearts that go around yelling “MY CHILD WOULD NEVER DO ANYTHING WRONG!! AND FOR YOU TO ACCUSE HIM OR HER OF WRONGDOING IS JUST INSANE!! YOU ARE THE STUPID ONE.”

You obviously do not have children. . at least with your mental thoughts I HOPE you don’t

    you failed again.

I noted the party might have been at the residence where she lived.

I noted the parents may have been party goers.

I noted it might be a false assumption to think both parents could be identified.

How any of that has a bearing on my status as a parent, eludes any thinking person.

Let’s not forget, you raised the question concerning her parents.

What does that say about you.

Well, scurry back to your burrow until entitlement day.

A 16 year old girl (another report said she was 15) partying till 2:30am or later? At the risk of sounding old fashioned, I can’t even imagine allowing my kids to party until 2:30am or later at that age.

As a parent, how can you even face yourself in the mirror and say you’re doing a good job with your kids if you care so little about their general well being? What positive thing could a young kid be doing partying at that time of the early morning?

Whenever I read a report like this I am truly saddened as well as disturbed. What I see is a culture of parents without a solid value system perpetuating the next generation of potential adults without a solid value system, ad infinitum.

With the bar being set so low, it should come as no surprise to anyone that there are almost daily shootings in some neighborhoods.

What in the name of common sense was a 15 year old girl doing walking the streets at 2:30 AM???? Where in the name of God are her parents??

  • SurfCityTom

you assumed she was walking the streets. The party may have been at her house.

you assume both parents can be identified.

you ask where were the parents. They may have been party goers.

Is this 16 yr old living in the WHA properties? Is so she broke the curfew laws and she as well as her parents should be held accountable. Nothing good happens to young girls at that time of night/or morning. Is she a mother? And if the answer is yes, then where is the baby? And where is her mother? Or was she pawned off to a grandmother to raise? Child services should be involved in this investigation.
