BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) -- Dental care for those who need it most is on its way to Brunswick County.

Today the ECU School of Dental Medicine announced the eighth of its Community Service Learning Centers is coming to the county. The facilities are designed to give students a chance to learn while serving medicaid patients and others who might not have access to dental care.

"I truly believe that you're going to see folks from all over the southeast; probably further than one would imagine," Brunswick County Health Director David Stanley said. "I know we've talked about two or three counties, but I think you're going to see people from all over southeastern North Carolina for sure, drive to this facility to seek the care that they need."

The clinic will be built on donated land near Brunswick Novant Medical Center in Supply. Organizers hope to have it up and running by June of next year.

Good, I hope the dentists in Columbus county who blocked it coming there go out of business. The cabal of rich businessmen that keep any development from coming into the county because it will upset their applecart are destroying the place.
