Happening tomorrow: Pink Ribbon Day in Leland

LELAND, NC (WWAY) -- Pink Ribbon Day kicks off tomorrow in Leland with a day full of events aimed at raising funds for the American Cancer Society.

You can enjoy food, dance performances, arts and crafts shopping and fun for the kids all while helping raise money for breast cancer care and research.

The fun kicks off at 10 a.m. and runs until 4 in the afternoon at 117 Village Road behind the CVS.

I am sure the group that put this event on had a good intentions. I arrived at 2:45pm & most of the vendors were packing up to leave.

Not saying the American Cancer Society is not a fine organization even if their expenses are excessive, especially salaries, they should recognize other forms of cancer other than breast cancer. Seems like the focus and fund drives are always for this form of the disease. There are many different colors of ribbons other than pink ones.

My thoughts exactly. Shouldn't October be about all cancer and not just the one?
