WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Police are investigating after they say a man robbed a Wilmington Scotchman store with a knife early this morning.

Wilmington Police say it happened just after 1 a.m. at the Scotchman at 2902 Carolina Beach Road. Officers say the clerk called to report the crime, saying the man walked into the store with a knife demanding money.

Police say when the clerk handed over the cash, the robber took off running from the store. They say the suspect is described as a bald, black man, who is between 5'6" and 5'8" and weighs about 170 pounds.

WPD says no one was hurt during the robbery, and there's no word on what the robber got away with.
