WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Memorial Day weekend means it’s time to make a splash.

Wilmington’s city pools and the Northside Splash Pad are opening up so you can cool off.

The pools are open tomorrow and Monday from noon until 5 p.m. You can swim during the same times on May 31 and June 7.

Starting June 16, the pools and Splash Pad will be open Mondays through Saturdays.

Pool admission is $1 for kids and $2 for adults. The Splash Pad is free.

Let’s hope the City will hire experienced life guards. THREE LIFE GUARDS WERE ON DUTY WHEN MATTHEW WELLS, AGE 14, LAID ON THE BOTTOM OF THE POOL FOR 15+ MINUTES! Hopefully, no one else will have to DIE before the City hires adequately trained life guards and installs emergency phones! God bless the ems workers who brought this boy back to life!
