WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The tale of American President Andrew Jackson is told in rock opera fashion this weekend at City Stage in Wilmington.
Part historical epic and part modern retelling, the story of our seventh president recreates and reinvents the life of “Old Hickory,” from his humble beginnings on the Tennessee frontier to his days as our Commander-in-Chief.
The play uses Jackson’s story investigate the attraction and terrors of American populism, using a blend of outrageous comedy, anarchic theatricality and infectious Emo rock.
The show is Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and tickets are available at www.citystagenc.com.
