Deputies looking for man who robbed Kangaroo Express with gun

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- Deputies are investigating after they say a man robbed a Kangaroo Express with a long gun early this morning.

New Hanover County investigators say it happened at 5717 Castle Hayne Road just after 3 a.m. They say an employee working at the time told them a man walked up to the attendant after walking into the store, showing a long gun.

That's when deputies say he pulled out a long gun and demanded cash. The robber then took off with an undisclosed amount of money.

Deputies say the man is described as a white man, who is between 5'1" and 5'10" and weighs about 125 pounds. They say he was wearing a gray jacket and blue jeans during the crime. Anyone with information is asked to call the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office at (910) 798-4162.
