NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) -- A Wilmington woman's faith in humanity was restored today.
After losing her wedding rings at a South Carolina beach, she sent out a call for help, and today that call was answered.
Hilary Bradley thought she'd never see them again. On Memorial Day two rings she says are so much more than pieces of jewelry were lost somewhere in the sand at Cherry Grove. In a last ditch effort to find her wedding rings, Bradley put an ad on Craig's list.
Will Myers says he just stumbled upon Bradley's lost-and-found ad while surfing the web on his day off. Myers is experience with a metal detector, and has three of his own.
Around 6:30 this morning he found both of the rings using a real-life treasure map that Bradley e-mailed him. He says the wedding band was about two feet under the sand, while the engagement ring was only two inches below the surface.
Today Bradley met Myers at the North Myrtle Beach Police Department.
Bradley says she is so thankful for this Good Samaritan.
"He could have seen my ad, gone and looked for the rings taken the ring and said, 'I didn't see them!' The fact that he returned them to me just lets me know there are really great people in this world that are not just looking out for themselves," Bradley said.
Bradley gave Myers a note and a reward of $200, which he tried to give back, but she would not let him.
Bradley said no reward is enough to express how grateful she is.
