WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A former administrator at Wilmington Plastic Surgery made his first court appearance on forgery and embezzlement charges Friday.
Guy Williams is accused of forging plastic surgeon Charles Kays's name on a promissory note to First Citizens Bank for $200,000, according to arrest warrants.
There are also five separate cases of embezzlement beginning in 2009 and ending in March. The warrants from New Hanover County Sheriff's Office state Williams used unauthorized checks, company credit cards and overpaid his salary and bonuses. In all, the total amount allegedly embezzled is more than $385,000.
Williams's attorney released a statement today saying, "Guy is saddened that this matter has taken this turn... but he is optimistic that once it all unfolds the truth will come out".
