WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington Police investigate after an early morning rollover crash that threw four people from a car on Oleander Drive.

Police say the accident happened around 2:30 a.m. Monday in the 6100 block of Oleander Drive, near Greenville Loop. That's where officers say four people were ejected from the car when it rolled over.

Police say the four victims were transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for injuries. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Investigators say alcohol could have been a factor in the crash.

Alcohol was not the reason

Alcohol was not the reason for the wreck, the car had problems. If they did wear their seatbelts, they all would have died.

16 days later

My little brother, 21, was a passanger in this accident. While the driver went to jail, and the other two passengers are living their lives, my brother is in surgical teams icu. He just started breathing on his own today but still hasn't awaken.

Al Cohol

I totally agree. As a former drinker (sober 25 years) they need to start raising the taxes on alcohol like they did on cigarrettes (former smoker also 14 years). They need to tax it high. Could you imagine how much money the city/county would make if they raised the taxes on alcohol. I am sure more than we get from the lottery.

They should not give second chances. 6 months for 1st offense. An they would have to serve their sentense on Friday and Saturday nights. Their 6 month sentence would turn into 90 months. 7.5 years of weekend jail time. That would be one way to keep them off the streets. And if that does not keep them off the streets, keep them in jail for good!

They HAVE been raising the

They HAVE been raising the prices over the last few years (although not as much as cigarettes but still ~ 25%).

I notice they said COULD have been a factor but that also they were ejected from the vehicle, meaning they were likely not wearing seat belts which is even dumber than having a moderate amount to drink before driving. Combine the two.. and well, disaster waiting to happen. Everyone goes on and on about drunk driving but as many times as we see "Thrown from vehicle" or similar why does no one raise a stink about that??

Mr. Al Cahol

"Alcohol could have been a factor . . ."

Mr. Al Cohol, the most dangerous fellow in Wilmington surely does get around. If he's not behind the wheel of a car, then he's brawling on the street, or beating his girlfriend or wife, or shooting someone, or stabbing them. Mr. Al Cohol is THE mucho macho man here in Wilmington.

Mr. Al Cohol has given us more bars, more drunk drivers, more drunken mayhem than any man I know..

We here in New Hanover County just can't get enough of Mr. Al Cohol's charm. In fact, recent national polls have listed Wilmington, NC, as one of our nation's most popular hotspots for alcohol.

Y'all come on down, and Mr. Alcohol will give you the keys to the city.
