CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) -- The search continues for the body of a swimmer who went missing Saturday at Carolina Beach.
Now the SABLE and Brunswick County Sheriff's helicopters have joined in the search.
Carolina Beach Ocean Rescue Capt. Simon Sanders says Terrance Christopher Miller, 24, and two others were near Texas Ave. Saturday night when Miller got caught in a rip current.
Sanders says lifeguards had eyes on Miller when he went underwater and immediately tried to find the missing swimmer. The Coast Guard joined in the search soon after, but hours later, they still could not find him.
The search continued Sunday with no luck.
Monday, with the help of the two helicopters, crews continued looking for Miller.
"SABLE is currently doing a sweep down toward Bald Head Island," Sanders said. "Started in Carolina Beach. We're going to cover all of Kure Beach, Fort Fisher and down to Bald Head."
Brunswick County's Air One also took flight to find Miller, but had no luck.
Sanders says they will keep looking as long as it takes to find Miller's body and give his family some closure.
