WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- So far we've bought people lunches, put gas in their tanks, and shopping carts full of free groceries. Now WWAY and Perry's Emporium are helping you out with your bills!

Thanks to Alan Perry and Perry's Emporium, the WWAY Surprise Squad once again put smiles on faces by heading to a Western Union in Wilmington to help people out with their bills.

Make sure to look out for the WWAY Surprise Squad next week as we continue to celebrate our 50th Anniversary by giving back to the community.

How does the surprise squad

How does the surprise squad chose who to help? I am a single parent, work full time and make fairly decent money but have hit a few rough patches the past few weeks. My daughter has newly found medical issues that have required many trips to different docs/specialist. mortgage is 2 months due, the ac needs to be replaced and we could use help with food also. I have exhausted what money I had put away for emergencies last month when our well went dry and I had to tap into the city water at $4500. Sure am ready for something positive to come my way.
How do the pick and choose who to help?

Your City Hall needs your help!

Nice gesture WWAY. We all know those folks appreciate this a lot.
An idea...maybe you should go to your City Hall during a City Council meeting some time...and help out the whole city of Wilmington and its citizens by paying on some of the bills there's no money for.
But then again...if you guys handed City Council a check (for any amount)...this is what would happen most likely!:

Send me your email and I will pay your rent.

And thee news god spoke thusly ...

And he hath said, "Go ye out into the world and find thee a new news story ... for there art a multitude ... for to re-tread an olde tale to the toppee of thy list ... a tale of selfee promotion ... a tale from lastee Thursday ... a tale that requireth no new effort from thy reporting staff ... yea verily, that wouldst surely be ungodly."

May the spirit that shouldst fill thee with ambition and desire to findeth out the new fill your hearts. Amen.

What?

Huh? You are not as clever as you think you are because I cannot understand what you are saying. I am of average intelligence of course.

Free or Paid For?

Sorry Scott but I could not resist this one..........

"So far we've bought people free lunches, free tanks of gas, shopping carts full of free groceries."

Why would you buy things that are free? WWAY did not "bought people free lunches". WWAY bought people lunches, gas and groceries. If the items were "free" then there would not be a need to buy them.

I'm sure your readers knew what Ashley was trying to say but she should say what she means instead of hoping people could figure it out.

Now......

Now I hope these people who were so blessed will "pay it forward" and help someone else that needs it.
