Holden Beach, NC (WWAY)– Sunday morning around 7:45, the Brunswick County Emergency Communications received a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist.

This happened at the intersection of Holden Beach Road and Ocean Blvd West.
Crews found that a passenger car turned into the path of the bicyclist.
The bicyclist then hit the car.

The Chief of Police, Wallace Layne, says the bicyclist was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center to treat injuries.
The driver of the car was cited for failing to yield to on coming traffic.
The case is still under investigations. Names are not being released at this time.
