Woman charged with attacking roommate

READ MORE:

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office says an Ocean Isle Beach woman is behind bars while another woman recovers at the hospital.

The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit arrested and charged Elizabeth Michelle Grig, 24, with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury and kidnapping early this morning.

Investigators say they got a call just before midnight. They say the victim, Stacey Means, 37, was airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Deputies say the two women, who live together on Erin Place in Ocean Isle Beach, fought, and Grig injured Means with a knife. After that, they say, she then forced her into a space under the home and called 911. The injury to Means's throat required surgery, investigators say.

Grig is in the Brunswick County Detention Facility under a $200,000 bond.

Court records show she also has a pending court date for possession of stolen property.
