WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY/SCREENGEMSSTUDIOS)- The Executive VP of EUE/Screen Gems Studios releases statement regarding Thursday's legislative news and move towards incentive grants.

Bill Vassar, Executive Vice President, EUE/Screen Gems Studios:
"This evening, an amendment to incorporate an incentive grant into the House version of the state budget for fiscal 2015-2016 was passed in the North Carolina House of Representatives. The House amendment provides an opportunity for the House and Senate Budget Committees to develop a meaningful program that maintains and grows the NC film industry.

We are grateful and deeply appreciative of the efforts of House Speaker Thom Tillis and Rep. Ted Davis (R-New Hanover), sponsor of the amendment. Their success in finding bipartisan support for the measure provides hope for this industry and the 4000+ North Carolina film workers and small business owners that depend on film to provide for their families.

We look forward to working with the House and Senate as they develop a plan that supports the industry and creates new jobs and business opportunities throughout North Carolina."
