BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick County detectives are asking for the public’s help in their search for a missing Southport man with disabilities who was last seen early this morning.

A spokeswoman with the sheriff’s office says Matthew Hoffman, 21, was last seen at his home on Blue Water Street in Southport around 2 a.m. Hoffman, who is 5’6″ weighing 150 lbs., was wearing a black shirt, gray pants and black boots when he went missing.

Detectives say Hoffman suffers from intellectual disabilities. Anyone with information on Hoffman’s whereabouts is asked to call Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Detective Jason Fennell at (910) 880-4895.
