WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A Leland mom says she plans to use the money she won playing the lottery for her kids' education and a family trip.

Amy Franke plans to save for her children's college education after scratching off the $150,000 top prize in the Green & Gold game. Franke learned of her big win after purchasing her lucky $5 ticket at the Buy and Go located on Ploof Road in Leland.

"I especially enjoy playing the scratch off games, because you find out if you're a winner instantly," Franke said, according to a news release from the North Carolina Education Lottery. "I looked at my ticket every day after winning, because I still couldn’t believe it."

After state and federal taxes were withheld, Franke got a check for $103,801. She said she also plans to use a portion of her winnings to take a family trip to Disney World.
