BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — Pender County held the 11th annual blueberry festival this weekend.

One vendor sold out of all of their products before 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Reva Upright says Ivanhoe Farms and their girls are known for their blueberry baked goods. Along with selling blueberries, they also make crunch cakes, sour cream coffee cakes, jam and muffins. Upright says these goodies may have given her a new nickname.

“We just started a few and everybody was calling for it,” Upright said. “They come back and say, ‘You’re the cake lady,’ or ‘You’re the crunch lady.’ So they just come back to see us.”

One of the event organizers, Pete Cowan, says this event brings the local area $2 million every year. He said they saw at least 30,000 people this year.
