WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington Police are investigating after a man said he was robbed at gunpoint while walking down the street.

Police say just before midnight last night, the victim flagged down an officer on patrol in the area of Market Street and Darlington Ave.

According to WPD, the man said he was walking home from a bar in the 300 block of Darlington when two men approached and pointed a handgun at him. The victim said one of the suspects punched him in the face. He said the men pushed him down, took his wallet and phone and walked off.

The man then decided to walk to Market Street to try and find a police officer instead of heading home. Police say they think about 20 minutes passed between the attack and when the victim stopped the officer. When they went to look for the suspects, they were gone.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't seem to find a bar on that block.

I think he was walking home from a bar (unnamed) and he was in the 300 block of Darlington when robbed, not that the bar is in the 300 block.

The sentence structure is such that it could be read either way.
