WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Fire Department says a housefire that shut down part of Wooster Street this morning was intentionally set.

WDF says Wilmington Police and the Fire Marshal’s office are now investigating the fire at 718 Wooster.

Investigators say the home was vacant as it was undergoing extensive renovations. Damage estimates are approximately $2,000.

Part of Wooster had to be closed for a while as crews worked to put the fire out.

From the story: “WDF says Wilmington Police and the Fire Marshal’s office are now investigating the fire at 718 Wooster.”

Who is the WDF?

I think more and more that there is an arsonist on the loose around Wilmington. There’s been to many fires intentionally set to ignore this. Are the fire departments or police department concerned?
