GM recalls 7.6 million cars for ignition switches

DETROIT (AP) -- General Motors is recalling at least 7.6 million more vehicles dating back to 1997 to fix faulty ignition switches as the company's safety crisis continues to grow.

The latest recalls involve mainly older midsize cars and bring GM's total number of recalls this year to over 28 million.

The company says it is aware of three deaths, eight injuries and seven crashes involving the vehicles recalled on Monday. GM says it has no conclusive evidence that faulty switches caused the crashes.

The company says it expects to take a $1.2 billion charge in the second quarter for recall-related expenses.

It is urging people to remove everything from their key rings until their cars can be repaired.

Send in the Clown - Obama. He owns GM.

Knew it...Not long.

I was wondering how long it would be before the first idiot blamed Obama.

I guess the President

I guess the President designed the faulty ignition switches. Typical Republican spout-off.

defensive much?

I guess since he was the guy pushing the bailout for Gm and basically fired their CEO and had him replaced with his Guy, you could lay some of it at his feet but I guess that you defenders of Obama have selective memory.
no sense in calling names but if you're into that kind of thing how about using Hugo Chavez that would be a good name to use anytime you say Obama and America just replace it with Hugo Chavez and Venezuela.
Just try it one time and you will be surprised how closely they compare. here's a an easy one start with the gulf oil spill BP the moratorium and paying Brazil to drill off of their shores with the equipment that the lease holders moved from here and compare it to Chavez taking control of the private oil companies in his country
