BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- The attorney for a Southport police officer charged with shooting and killing a schizophrenic teen says the boy's mother did not threaten the officer's wife after all.

In May, attorney James Payne said Mary Wilsey, mother of Keith Vidal, threatened Bryon Vassey's wife Victoria at the Brunswick County Courthouse.

Payne filed a motion requesting video from inside the courthouse. Payne said several witnesses identified the woman at Wilsey, but he now say they were wrong. Today he said the witnesses were wrong.

"We regret this error and apologize to Ms. Wilsey and her family for this misidentification and any unintended issues this may have caused," Payne said in a statement.

Even if she had said

Even if she had said something like that who can really blame her as a mother I would be so angry during this whole process I might end up threatening the judge, and their family. Can you imagine all the emotions this women is feeling about everything. I don't even have enough comment room to write it all down. This cop needs to be in prison anybody else would have done it and they would already be there but this guy is getting the easy way out, they are just going to draw it out until the media is done with it and then let him off with just being suspended with no pay no jail time.

Vassey is going to prison

No lawyer tricks can change Vassey's fate. Bye Bye swine!

Payne is not doing his

Payne is not doing his client a lot of good here. Falsely accusing a bereaved mother of communicating threats is pretty low, even for a lawyer.

Payne's initial accusation

Payne's initial accusation was due to the information received from witnesses. If he "pretty low", he wouldn't have bothered requesting the video tapes in order to get the story straight and he certainly wouldn't have apologized as he did. He is doing the right thing here by clearing up the matter and proving the accusations to be false.

With an accusation that

With an accusation that serious he should've verified it before making his initial statement if he was any sort of moral human being. This still looks like an effort to muddy the waters that backfired because there was video.

right

Sounds more like some sort of failed plan, had this case not been in the media, these kind of plans must often work and are often acceptable to the criminal justice system, why else would someone be so confident setting such a plan in place to start with.

I wish

I wish it had only taken video to clear this up, but someone would have made sure that this video would never have surfaced, had this not been in the media, the courts would have chosen to take the witnesses word. It is public attention that I think is saving this woman. Unfortunately the court systems work behind the scenes hand and hand with corrupt attorneys who may have helped them to get their jobs in the first place and they also work with "the out of control police" that is taking over the entire country. This technique of having people follow you around at court and make up things is happening over and over. Remember that is why someone had confidence in this plan to start with. The lesson here is do not call the police unless you want an out of control police man with a gun showing up. Also, be aware that the police, court system and attorneys are all working together, they are an exclusive club. The entire process is full of corruption as evidenced here.

attack dogs sent in

More then likely these so called witnesses were set up to follow the mother of the slain victim around the court room and take this poor woman out of context. Corruption, murder......it is a very sad for all today, what have we become? Nothing to celebrate if this is what the nation has become.

Is that what he be now

Is that what he be now saying?

Vassey Woman

So, a murderer and a liar in the same family. What are the odds? I'm surprised this human waste and anyone who chooses to associate with him intentionally, aren't threatened by good people every day.
