PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Pender County Emergency officials say there were no reports of significant damage when Hurricane Arthur swept through the area, despite reports of funnel clouds and a lightning strike sparking flames at a home there.

This comes as Arthur continues to weaken, with state of emergencies being rescinded by most of our area counties as of this morning. Emergency officials say the tornado that touched down in the western side of the county only left behind minimal damage, and a structure that caught fire from a lightning strike only left behind property damage, without injuries reported as a result of either.
