Sex crime suspect arrested in Idaho now in Brunswick Co. Jail

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- A man charged with sex crimes involving a child is in the Brunswick County Jail after being arrested earlier this month in Idaho.

Leland Police and the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office got warrants against Fernando Vargas-Julio, 30, for two counts of first degree sex offense with a child, three counts of indecent liberties with a child, two counts of crimes against nature and disseminating obscenity to a minor.

The charges stem from a report Leland Police got May 13 of a sexual assault. The investigation found some of the alleged crimes happened outside the town limits.

The US Marshal Service tracked Vargas-Julio to an Idaho farm, where they say he was working under a fake name. They arrested him July 3.

Vargas-Julio is in custody under $500,600 bond.

That's Why...

Every county in this area is holding these scumbags accountable even to cross state lines to get these sex offenders off the streets. However all they do is come here to Wilmington and continue to do as they please. These child sex offenders/predators are very well aware what city's and counties are ontop of their game. Time for Wilmington/New Hanover County to wake up!!

Awesome work and great job to the investigators on this case. Another CHILD SEX OFFENDER is off the streets.. Still so many not being held accountable here in New Hanover County.
