WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Police arrested one of two wanted men after they say the duo robbed another man at knife-point while he was trying to buy heroin.

It happened just before 2 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of Mosely Street. That's where police say a man in his 20s was attempting to buy a bundle of heroin when two men walked up to him with a knife demanding money.

Police say one of the robbers then held the knife to the victim's throat. Officers say the man handed over a large amount of cash just before the two robbers took off running from the area.

Officers say they tracked one of the robbers, who was identified as Veshon Shaw, 21, by using the house arrest monitoring bracelet he was wearing after they issued warrants for his arrest. Police served the warrants, putting Shaw behind bars under $100,000 secured bond.

Gods willing

God has purpose for your life. Despite what others may say or think, God has final say so when you forsake any and all wrongs and put your trust in his son Yahshua Messiah's- Jesus Christs sacrifice. Allowing his Love to guide your life completely. For we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Just believe God is able to renew and restore any and all parts of your life.

Coach Bell

God is Able

Though all may look in on this young man, and ridicule him on the wrong that he committed, who will be willing to go and Love on him to help him understand the error of his ways and that we are concerned about his life and soul adamantly saying we truly love him. I had that opportunity when I came back home to NC to see him at his home, to let him know that I am proud of him for trying to get back in school and for keeping focus. This is one of my boys who I coached and still am going to motivate, no matter what, For God has purpose for his life although what seems dim, He will be able to teach others once Love embraces and saves him completely. Gods Willing I'm going to see you do good son, no matter what. Learn from every mistake, take responsibility, and become a stronger leader not only for others and yourself, but also for Gods Glory. Though I'm hurt to see this I still Love you son, and will be praying in hopes that Gods grace and mercy will keep you, and teach you during this lesson. Bell

Committing another crime is

Committing another crime is not "keeping focus", especially since this one was committed while on house arrest. His record indicates he may have a substance abuse problem. If that is the case, then there are a lot of resources out there if he is willing to get help. There are some really good Christian rehab centers in NC as well.

On this board I am usually harsh on the criminals and pretty much balk at the family and friends who put them out there as a good person and not willing to see the wrong that has been done. However, you aren't making excuses for Shaw, as is the norm. I can see that you know he did wrong and I can see that you love him and truly want him to have a better life. He is lucky to have you in his life and that may be the best thing he has going for him. I have seen people turn their lives around and know it can happen, if he truly wants to.

And he still smiles...

...knowing all the while he'll be out for another joust at robbing or killing someone else with weeks.

Our justice system needs some serious work!

This idiot ranks right up

This idiot ranks right up there with the bank robber that wrote a holdup note to the teller on the back of his phone bill. I guess you just can't fix stupid.
