WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police arrested one of two wanted men after they say the duo robbed another man at knife-point while he was trying to buy heroin.

It happened just before 2 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of Mosely Street. That’s where police say a man in his 20s was attempting to buy a bundle of heroin when two men walked up to him with a knife demanding money.

Police say one of the robbers then held the knife to the victim’s throat. Officers say the man handed over a large amount of cash just before the two robbers took off running from the area.

Officers say they tracked one of the robbers, who was identified as Veshon Shaw, 21, by using the house arrest monitoring bracelet he was wearing after they issued warrants for his arrest. Police served the warrants, putting Shaw behind bars under $100,000 secured bond.
