WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Happening this weekend is the annual Port City Ribfest hosted this year by Carolina Fireplace.

The event is Friday thru Sunday and is a celebration of great BBQ and great music, with some other tasty libations thrown in.

It features champion pitmasters from around the country and there will be plenty of side items, desserts and a multitude of drink options.

There will be a marketplace, performers, events for kids and tons of great music throughout the three day event.

This year it benefits The CARE Project which supports and assists people with hearing disabilities and their families.

Glaringly missing from this article are the location, cost and time.

This may be the 21st century but the 5 w’s still need to be observed in journalism.
Even in fluff pieces.

You know, Daniel, I was pretty bummed out when Chris Phillips was leaving, but it didn’t take long to get over it. You have been awesome on the news and I love how you handle things as a moderator. Thanks for the smiles.
