ONLY ON 3: Woman caught on camera kicking out police car window

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A chaotic scene in downtown Wilmington last night, after a woman kicked through the window of a police car. It was all caught on camera.

Adrianne Bays says it was a calm Monday night in downtown Wilmington until Carrie Mcdonald started yelling at a few police officers around 2 a.m.

"She was saying a lot of offensive things to them. She was kind of calling them out about things they weren't doing, calling them names, saying that they were asinine," Bays said.

When police confronted the woman, Bays says McDonald claimed officers were choking and kicking her.

"He's kicking me. He's kicking me," McDonald yelled.

"The officer clearly had his elbows behind his ribs and wasn't even touching her," Bays said.

Bays said it took three officers to finally get Mcdonald into the back of the car.

"The cops got a round of applause when they finally got her in the car," Bays said.

Bays said even that did not slow this woman down. No one at the scene could believe what McDonald did next. McDonald smashed through the back window of the police car, sending glass flying toward one of the officers. Bays says she was just about to walk home, but instead she got to see a show.

"There's never a dull moment with downtown," she said. "You never know what you're going to get."

The Wilmington Police Department says McDonald faces two counts of injury to personal property, communicating threats, resisting an officer and intoxicated and disruptive charges.

We tried to talk with McDonald in jail today, but she declined our request.

WPD says the police car is now at the shop for repairs.

Life is hard - it is even harder when you are stupid - John Wayne

I'll add to that - it is even harder when you are a stupid drunk! Glad someone caught this and was able to show the cops were just doing their job and that this loud mouth drunk was to blame.

I should have to pay for all damages inflicted on the car.
However this one sentence says it all about downtown:

""There's never a dull moment with downtown," she said. "You never know what you're going to get."

Now THERE is something Wilmington should be proud of eh?
Perhaps ILM should charge admission for this? Perhaps our illustrious film industry could turn it into a reality TV show (with BETTER incentives than short term projects)
What should we call it?
Drunk and Delirious?
'Barfsky & Retch?

"Watch as people leave the bars, pee in public, throw up in the streets and face plant on the sidewalks! Sponsored by Budweiser!!!"

And people wonder why we can't attract non-bar business down town...

Vog

Sponsored by Old English and Colt 45. Leave Budweiser out of it

funny dude
:-)

That one comment really does say it all. "Downtown" has become an amusement park of semi-dangerous debauchery. Anyone taking a family "downtown" after dark is either from out of town or a practicing abuser of children.

Remember those signs at amusement park rides that said you had to be at least a certain height? "Downtown" should post similar signs, but theirs should read "You have to be able to consume at least 12 beers to get on this ride".

Good one!
