WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It’s an easy concept that is now viral. Even Trot Nixon can do it. Sorry Trot.

Here’s how it works. Dump a bucket of ice water over your head. Nominate others to do the same. Typically, the nominations come first. The purpose of the challenge is to raise awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease(ALS).

Click the play video icon in order to see WWAY’s 5th Quarter analyst and host do it. Yes, former Boston Red Sox slugger Trot Nixon accepted the challenge.

Should be doing both,10.00 minimum if you do challenge, 100.00 minimum if you don’t

Why not do both? Would that be challenge enough?

I don’t get it?? I received same challenge… Dump water on head or donate money to cause? Isn’t everyone that dumps water on head saying I would rather do this than donate?

The article says nothing of donations. The article states that it is done to raise awareness. Could be that your challenger just upped the ante.
