WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington City Council voted 5 to 1 on a resolution to move forward with the Water Street parking deck proposals.

The Development Finance Initiative can begin soliciting developers for the site.

DFI will look at the offers and make a recommendation to City Council for a final decision.

Turn it into your Convention Centers Hotel…you know…one price to park and sleep in your vehicle. RV’s welcomed!

The sooner they get that old white dinosaur fixed up, the sooner they can sell it to one of their buddies at a loss, so that he can turn around and sell it back to them for a profit.

    Who voted No?…and why?

Well let’s see. If they start the process now, they may have someone qualify and have something built in 20-25 years. By then it will be obsolete and they can demo it and start the process over again. Council does not have a hotel at the convention center yet and they are embarking on another “project” that no doubt will turn into a long drawn out butt of jokes.

Just sell the dang thing, get out of the way and let people who know, or don’t know what they are doing develop the site and be done with it. Wash your hands of the development business. You guys are not good at it and my goodness half of you are in the business. The convention center hotel or lack thereof speaks to your abilities.

All you guys do is ripen yourselves to be taken advantage of at the behest of the citizens who end up paying for your inept abilities.
