WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) -- Whiteville High will open the 2014 football season with high expectations. Luke Little's team hopes to be able to improve on their sensational 2013 campaign. "Hopefully we can continue what we did last year. We want to play physical, solid, assignment football," Little told us. "We have 96 kids out right now. That's a lot for a 1-A school. We have about 650 kids, with about 300 males. You have almost 100 playing and that's a good thing. I just hope we can continue what we started last year with em."

Whiteville opens the 2014 with North Brunswick in Leland on August 22.
