WILMINGTON NC (WWAY)– The North Carolina Black Leadership Caucus announce a march to celebrate the anniversary of the “I Have a Dream” speech.

One member says it is more than just a celebration, because they are still fighting for justice. J C Brown says they are fighting for several families in the community that have lost family members to excessive force by police officers.

“What we are doing is peaceful,” Brown said. “Look at these families. They are just as peaceful. Guess what? The ones they killed, they were just as peaceful.”

They will be marching a peaceful protest on August 28th at 5:30 from Red Cross Street to the 1898 Monument Observance for a rally starting at 6:00.

Marching for the “Dream” anniversary is great; do you have to sully it by attaching alleged excessive force cases and turning it into a negative?

I’m sure that none of those police officers want to venture into the black neighborhoods but they have to. If the police suddenly refused to go into those neighborhoods and projects, they would quickly become something similiar to Post Katrina New Orleans. The strong would start feeding off the weak and lawlessness would be the norm. Who is going to keep the peace? The so-called Black Leadership Caucus? The NAACP? Al and Jesse? Even Jesse Jackson said “There is nothing more painful to me … than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery, then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.”

If someone told me there was something called the NC Black Leadership Caucus, the last thing that would come to mind would be one middle aged African-American guy wearing a Black Panthers type T-shirt, standing in front of five semi-confused looking women. This is such a non-group Mr. Brown had to print up a sign from the local quick print shop just to let people know there actually is an official NC Black Leadership Caucus.

Ok, maybe they don’t look like much, but their message is probably spot on, right? And the message is: “The ones they killed, they were just as peaceful.” Oh well, looks like the message is just a load of crap too. Too bad.

Ok, so they don’t look like much, and the message is pretty crappy, but they probably have a great plan to get people’s attention, right? Unfortunately, that is also not the case. Their great plan is to march over to the that old 1898 Monument and protest. Wow, really original! Every Black leader in town uses that thing to protest injustice; especially when they really don’t want to address current day problems in their community. How convenient it must be to point an accusing finger back into history and blame everything that’s happening today on something that was perpetuated by people who aren’t even alive anymore. After a while, that’s about as non-original as saying Tuesday comes after Monday.

Local Black leaders are fiddling while their community burns around them. Instead of playing “let’s pretend”, it’s way past time for them to start addressing some of the real issues that everyone is actually aware of. Pretending the problem is something else won’t make it go away. If that really worked, with all of the pretending they’re doing around here, the obvious problems would have disappeared some time ago. That most certainly hasn’t happened.

People celebrating MLK is ridiculous. He was an adulterer. He was a communist and he beat the prostitutes he solicited so he wouldn’t have to pay them.

Sometimes the rest of us, in the heat of the moment, fail to realize that.

Too bad there aren’t more of you in leadership positions in your community instead of these opportunistic parasites.

Most of us, in the Inner City, are good, hard working people. All it takes are five or six hate-filled, lazy, gotcha-whitey, Al Sharpton-wannabees, to grab the headlines.

Do not paint us all with one brush. Most of us hate armed robbing criminals. And drug dealing, deadbeat, bully, coward, gangsters. Just as much as you do. And we stand against their evil. Not for it.

This is a joke right????

“What we are doing is peaceful,” Brown said. “Look at these families. They are just as peaceful. Guess what? The ones they killed, they were just as peaceful.”

Brown is a total joke and that statement proves it. LEO killed “peaceful” people? I don’t even know what to say. People want to talk about racism but these THUGS (NAACP included) are more racist than anyone!!!!

Maybe there aught to be a “white leadership caucus”. I’m not talking about the three K group – get your mind out of the gutter. I’m talking about marching on community involvement, gang violence, reducing white on white violence, reduced youth pregnancy and single parent homes, etc.

Nevermind, pretty much got a handle on all that. Carry on.

These people are such racists that they are completely removed from reality. Who is killing and shooting blacks in Wilmington? Blacks! If the NAACP, the Black Caucus, and their supporters in the Democrat Party had a lick of sense, they would be praising the police and begging for more police protection from other dangerous blacks! I’ve never seen such idiotic statements as made by the Black Caucus. No wonder they all have to live off welfare–paid for, of course, by the white man.
