Anonymous tip leads to stolen seahawk statue

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- UNCW says the seahawk statue stolen from campus last month has been found.

According to a campuswide e-mail, CrimeStoppers got an anonymous tip Thursday. It came one day after UNCW Police released surveillance video of the theft.

The bronze statue was stolen from in front of the Warwick Center July 5.

As this is still an open investigation, the university says UNCWPD will release further details when appropriate.

Has the administration ever thought of clipping the wings?

This is what the perpetrators of this act will be receiving. I assume you have been found out and you will find it will change your life.

When that human resource person looks at your job application, where it says have you been convicted of a felony, that sinking feeling will set in and you will know. Boy did I screw up. You are a thief. Not a simple prankster. A thief. And by the value of the Bird, a Grand one.

Just think, that Bird you stole will now be hovering over you for a long, long time and just when you think he has flown away, Bang!!! He will swoop in out of nowhere and peck you in the head and perhaps he will take aim and drop a big stinking bird bomb and nail you right between the eyes.

From what I have learned these SeaHawks have stamina and resolve. He will be watching.

They will probably plead to a lesser charge.

Looks like a bunch of bored white college kids. Hope they are made to pay for the damage and restoration.

Why does it have to be white college kids??? You are a racist!!!!!

Yes, I am an equal opportunity racist...I really don't care what color your skin is, we don't get to choose that, I just hate all stupid people equally.
